The five traditional Chinese elements are critical to defining correct Feng Shui adjustments to a space. The five elements composition is based on each person's birth time and place: hour, day, month and year. The interrelation between the elements is illustrated in the chart at left. Each element acts productively on another (the green arrows show this circular relationship). The converse of this is the dissolving cycle. Each element acts destructively (shown by the hot pink arrows in an opposing relationship). This can be understood easily by considering the behavior of each element in turn:

In the most auspicious Five Elements compositions, the chart has all five elements. However, only 10% of the population have this kind of chart. That means 90% of people are missing at least one element completely. This missing element has a perceptible negative impact - but it can be adjusted for by adapting that element in one's home, office and clothing. When doing the Feng Shui for a family dwelling or organization New York Feng Shui consultant Master Pun Yin emphasizes the Five Element composition of the head of the family, or the CEO of the business.
For a Master trained in the art and science of Feng Shui it is possible to see the chi of a person in their face. Each part of the face represents a period of the person's life, and this is a very accurate way to find out how much or little auspiciousness attends each life period, and what it is possible to moderate through Feng Shui and adapting additional positive life practices to care for one's health and well-being. If you live in the New York area or planning a trip to New York, please contact Master Pun Yin to make an appointment for feng shui Chinese Life Face and Chi Reading.

The Chinese lunar calendar is one of the longest continuous records in existence. It dates from 2637 BCE, when Emperor Huange Ti introduced the first cycle of this zodiac in the 61st year of his reign. There are 12 signs, one for each lunar year. However, a complete cycle takes 60 years, as the cycle also counts the Five Elements. To fulfill the complete 60-year cycle, each zodiacal animal sign must be paired with each of the 5 elements (12 x 5 = 60). Legend has it the 12 animals of the Chinese Zodiac were chosen by Buddha. When Buddha was near death he invited all the animals to visit him. Only 12 came: the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. For visiting him, Buddha honored each by using them to represent the 12 phases of the Zodiac Master Pun Yin uses the client's birth hour, day and year to determine the unique karmic conflicts and affinities intrinsic to the client's being. These must be taken into consideration when adjusting the chi of the client's site. |
